Unified Software Services: Consolidate L4 Support and Managed Services

Kevin Mease, chief product officer at Rimini Street, discusses the need for organizations to consolidate software support and managed services.

► ABOUT RIMINI STREET UNIFIED SOFTWARE SERVICES:

Support Services

A multi-vendor support model for enterprise software can cause quality issues and lost time for IT professionals who must coordinate vendors when they could be implementing high-priority strategic initiatives.

Additionally, pressure from software manufacturers to move to their cloud models or upgrade to maintain full support can add stress and distract CIOs from optimizing and following an IT roadmap that is best for their business.

In the video, Mease describes the importance of creating competitive advantage and focusing on business outcomes rather than on the management of processes and systems. A high quality unified software services provider who delivers consolidated L4 support, managed services, and ERP system management can do that for you.

Unified Software Services: Consolidate L4 Support and Managed Services

Kevin Mease:
Hi, I’m Kevin Mease and I’m the Chief Product Officer at Rimini Street. So lately I’ve been talking to CIOs and our executive peers about how to bring together managed services and support.

So I think those conversations are coming up a lot now because there’s a lot of pressure from vendors and vendors’ schedules, as well as a proliferation of quality issues that folks are having across using multiple vendors.

They’ve brought in a number of different companies to help them support their IT roadmaps and initiatives over the years. And now they’re spending most of their time working with those vendors and doing cross-coordination rather than investing in the initiatives that are important to them.

And so when you’re thinking about this, what you really want is a provider who’s going to help to keep your systems stable and to maintain and grow those to make sure that you’re able to achieve your business outcomes with your ERP system, because that’s what they’re there to do.

You have to decide where you’re going to try to create a competitive advantage. You know, you can look at your marketing. You can look at your sales. But you can also look at your process and systems, and those things should not be getting in the way of your business.

When you bring together support and managed service from a high quality provider, it really allows you to focus on your business outcomes, and less on the systems and the management of those systems.

In the next year, I see a lot of organizations moving towards a consolidated approach with their support and managed services. I mean you have to, right?
